Super convenient and cheap source for lumber and other needs. Devonte at the lumber cutting station was extremely helpful. He was very kind and friendly and helped me pick the right materials for my job even suggesting alternatives which would be more suitable. Which is what I ended up going with. 10/10 customer service

5 stars!!!! We are a family of DIYers, recently moved to SF and were looking for an alternative for Home Depot and Lowes, and came to know about DBSH through hardcore reddit communities that are promoting local businesses. We have been to the store multiple times and never faced any issue, staff is very friendly and very knowledgable. Prices are very reasonable. We do medium size projects so buy decent amount of supplies and found this store to be in some ways better than HD and Lowes.

Amazing experience at Discount Builders Supply & Hardware! I went in struggling to deal with a leaking kitchen sink and plumbing parts, and Neil immediately saw how overwhelmed I was. He didn’t just point me in the right direction — he went above and beyond. He explained all the different components clearly, helped me understand what I needed, and even selected and cut the right parts for me. What would have been a multi-hour search turned into a quick, streamlined visit thanks to his expertise and patience. Truly appreciated the help, and I’ll definitely be coming back here for all my future projects.

5 Stars! I had an excellent experience at Discount Builders Supply & Hardware. Bob in the lumber department helped me select the right wood for my project and carefully cut it to the correct size. He was patient, knowledgeable, and very professional. Austin in the paint department was also fantastic. He helped me pick up the additional items I needed to finish the job and made the whole process smooth and easy. Great service from both of them — I truly appreciate the help. I’ll definitely be coming back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks to Discount Builders I was able to turn an IKEA bookshelf into a desk with wood & cinder blocks! Total cost around $45. Special shoutout to Chase F. for cutting the wood pieces for me! Hooray!
