Stopped by for decorative mirrors. They do not have decorative mirrors but they do have Home Depot Cat (who was very alert after seeing a white lab pass by). Came for decorative mirrors. Stayed for Home Depot cat.

I came to the emeryville garden department looking for a large plant saucer. They did not have the size I needed. Willie took me over to the water heater isle and found exactly what I needed. He then took me to another isle to find a specific cap for the saucer! This was amazing customer service. He could have easily said “We don’t carry that size” and continued to drive his tow motor. But he did not! Thank you Willie!

The garden center at this location is great. The plant selection is quite extensive, but what really makes it special is the exceptional service. When I last visited a few weeks ago, both Carrie and Judy went out of their way to help me. They shared knowledge, provided opinions, and were just generally warm and caring. I find it’s rare these days to receive attentive and thoughtful assistance at almost any store. These women really stand out, and I hope management recognizes and values them as much as they deserve. Thank you for the great experience.

This was the worst Home Depot experience I’ve ever had and I love going to Home Depot, people are such a wealth of knowledge and typically very friendly. I came in to get information about flooring options, installation timelines, and scheduling a measurement for my home. I’ve gone through this process before at a Home Depot in Chicago and had an excellent, knowledgeable associate who guided us through flooring and window treatments for my mom’s condo. Because of that, i happily came to Home Depot to start the same process for my home. The associate at this location looked disengaged, uninterested and bored. Every question I asked—basic questions about brand differences, durability, and installation timing—was met with “I don’t know.” She couldn’t answer a single one. When I finally asked to schedule an estimate, she struggled to use the computer system and moved extremely slowly. She then insisted I choose a specific floor before she could proceed. I explained that I couldn’t choose because no one could provide any guidance. Her manager stepped in, not to help, but to deliver attitude and tell me it wasn’t their job to pick out a floor for my home and cut me off when I was trying to ask questions. So I walked out and took my business to a different location

Over the last 6 months, my last 4 orders were cancelled unexpectedly after paying online and preparing for shipping from the store: three without any input, and once because the delivery driver was a no-show according to the supervisor (she was effective and understanding and nothing was her fault). Avoid THD: they're likely about to be scrapped and sold to an overseas VC like Burger King and other struggling American brands so their execs have no reason to care. There's a Harbor Freight and Ace nearby.
