The most embarrassing and frustrating customer service experience I have ever had. I ordered several expensive custom items, including interior doors, custom closet systems, and mirrored closet doors. From the beginning, the entire process was a nightmare. Nobody seemed to know where my order was, employees gave conflicting information, there was no clear tracking information, no reliable delivery date, and no accountability from anyone involved. To make matters worse, some of the measurements provided were incorrect and one door arrived damaged. Every time I tried to get answers, I was passed from one employee to another without any resolution. When you’re spending thousands of dollars on custom products, you expect professionalism, communication, and basic quality control. Unfortunately, this Home Depot delivered none of those things. I cannot wait for this nightmare to finally be over. The customer service at this location is simply unacceptable. All they do is robotically apologize. What an embarrassment.

This Home Depot location is pretty average overall. The selection is decent for basic home improvement stuff, but definitely not as good as the Fairmount location. If you’re specifically looking for plants or garden selection, this honestly wouldn’t be my first choice at all. I’d probably try 2-3 other Home Depot locations before this one for that. Some of the locations out in El Cajon and even La Mesa are noticeably nicer and seem to have a better overall selection. The staff here has always been decent and helpful enough when needed, but the parking lot feels pretty small and cramped compared to most other Home Depot stores in San Diego.

I had a paint order with an issue and Emerald (Manager at the Point Loma Home Depot) went above and beyond to help me out. It was a Sunday on a holiday weekend and I was in a pretty big jam with the error and she made things right. I don't know if anybody else would have gone to the lengths she did. I don't leave many reviews, but Emerald impressed me to the point that I would be doing a disservice to her positive attitude and work ethic if I didn't.

This message is for Gino, I just wanted to let you know that Wes in Lumber really went above and beyond for his customer today! He was knowledgeable and patient. Helped me put together a divider in the truck bed and I couldn’t be more thankful. As a female alone I felt a little lost in a store like Home Depot, and he made me feel so much more calm and not stressed. Please give him the recognition he deserves. Thanks Wes!!!

On April 2, 2026, i discovered that my Hot Water heater had failed. I contacted several companies before contacting Home Depot. They were very nice and accommodating, came out that very day to perform the replacement. They contracted the replacement thru Delta Mechanical. I have had nothing but problems, since the install. Delta had to come back immediately following the install, to fix a noise coming from the kitchen sink, twice thereafter for failing the inspection, and one other time to install a part to make the hot water come faster. I still have a gulping noise from under the guest bathroom sink? The cost of Installation isn't detailed on the invoice? I contacted both Home Depot and Delta Mechanical and asked for compensation. due to all the trouble we have had. Home Depot denied my request, and Delta Mechanical never responded? This replacement was very expensive and certainly not what I paid for? 4 visits and the system is still not operating properly !
