For the homeowner, serious DIY enthusiast, or even a light-duty professional, this DEWALT ATOMIC kit is a fantastic investment. It hits a sweet spot of power, portability, and features without the bulk and high cost of heavy-duty professional models. It feels substantial and well-built from the moment you pick it up, delivering the performance and reliability that the DEWALT brand is known for. The "ATOMIC" Advantage: The main selling point of the ATOMIC line is its compact size. This drill is noticeably shorter and lighter than its bigger XR-series siblings. This makes a huge difference when you're working in tight spaces, like inside a cabinet, between wall studs, or under a sink. The reduced weight also means less fatigue when you're holding it overhead for extended periods, like when installing light fixtures or curtain rods. Brushless Motor: The brushless motor is a significant upgrade over older, brushed designs. For the user, this translates to two key benefits: more power and longer runtime from the battery. The drill responds instantly to the trigger and doesn't bog down when driving long screws or drilling into dense hardwood. You can feel the efficiency—it's a smooth, controlled power that inspires confidence. Drilling & Driving Power: Despite its compact size, this drill packs a serious punch. The 1/2-inch chuck is all-metal, providing a secure grip on a wide variety of bits, from tiny pilot-hole drill bits to larger hole saws. It has more than enough torque to drive 3-inch deck screws flush without hesitation and can handle drilling through wood, metal, and plastic with ease. The variable speed trigger and two-speed transmission (0−450 and 0−1650 RPM) give you precise control, allowing you to go slow for delicate tasks or full-speed for aggressive drilling. What's in the Box: The kit is a great value, typically including the Drill/Driver itself, two 20V MAX 1.5Ah lithium-ion batteries, a charger, and a sturdy contractor bag. Having two batteries is essential; you can have one on the charger while the other is in use, ensuring you never have to stop in the middle of a project to wait for a recharge. The Experience of Using It: This isn't just a tool; it's a problem-solver. The built-in LED light at the base is perfectly positioned to illuminate your work area, casting fewer shadows than drills with lights above the trigger. The ergonomic grip is comfortable and reduces hand strain. Changing bits is quick and easy with the keyless chuck. It feels balanced in the hand, giving you a sense of control that makes your work more accurate. It’s the kind of reliable tool that makes you actively look for your next project. And there were also a lot of beautiful flowers.

Really great experience shopping by at my local Home Depot. I’m working on a project to make custom sized dolly’s for outdoor use to use for my umbrella bases. The bases are 400lbs and have started to make rust marks on our custom blue stone patio. I needed to find a solution but there’s nothing online I could purchase, so I went ahead with a plan to build my own. I already did enough research to know I needed a mildew/mold primer for the wood base. Since this is going to stay outside 100% it’s a must. I spoke with the paint department & they guided me to the deck paint where that would be the most durable for “all weather” use. I expressed that I wanted to make it textured so they whipped up a gallon in black and were incredibly helpful. Next, I needed to create my bases. I have two different sized bases and knew I didn’t have the tools at home to cut them to perfect size. When I went to the lumber department, one of the team members helped me select the best wood, helped cut them both to size, and also gave me some additional tips on what type of screws and/or bolts would do best based on the wheels I purchased. The staff are so friendly, incredibly helpful, & will certainly go the extra mile to assist with your project needs. Enjoyed the visit for sure!

I wanted to provide some review on this Home Depot for the first time although I had been there more than 110’times in my lifetime I guess. Typically the home depot is the worse to get any assistance, but after I experienced very very good service in Chicago Home Depot, I found my neighborhood store has also improved - the key making guy Max was very helpful, patient and helped me get 5 keys done. Similarly, at the self checkout the lady named Giselle helped very patiently as well. As I said these are good signs, I would love to see this trend continues

The paint section was busy but an employee helped me find the color chips I was looking for. Self-checkout was quick, no wait.

Usually a bit less crowded than other Home Depots, with all the stuff you've come to expect. If you are able to find a staff member, they are usually friendly. Returns can be a pain, not enough staff and slow processing. Prices are reasonable. They also have special parking lot sales sometimes (carpets, plants etc.). Day labourers can be found in the parking lot.
