B V 6 months agoI shop at Home Depot all the time, so I’ve started paying more attention to how each location actually operates. This one is generally solid overall. One thing I really appreciate is that there’s often a police officer stationed out front, especially during the holidays. It adds a sense of security when you’re loading materials or leaving items in your vehicle. The parking lot is large, there’s usually plenty of parking, and carts are normally organized and easy to find. The lumber department deserves a shoutout there’s an employee there who is consistently helpful and knowledgeable, which makes a big difference when you’re buying a lot of materials. That said, since I purchase in bulk, I also end up doing returns from time to time. Unfortunately, the customer service desk can be hit or miss. There’s one staff member in particular who comes across as rude, which is disappointing considering how much business I regularly bring to this store. Overall, it’s a decent Home Depot and I’ll continue shopping here, but improving customer service at the returns desk would make the experience much better.
Paul Betts 4 months agoThis used to be my go to vs. Lowes further down the feeder road but something has changed. In the fall I confirmed availability of grass weed and feed on-line, but when I got there it wasn't in the bay where it was supposed to be. I found an associate who was a little put off to drop what he was doing to help me. His device confirmed there were over 100 in store, but he too was mystified that this fall staple in Houston was nowhere to be found. He engaged a second person who was equally baffled but no one seemed likely to get management involved in order to make a big margin popular product available to customers. So I left and went to Lowes where it was stacked at the checkout where it should be. I gave the store a try again yesterday to buy a chain saw. Thngs started better when I found it where it was supposed to be but it was locked up. I guess theft is an issue? With no one in sight I wandered over to the paint section where an associate eventually acknowledged me but instead of helping herself called out on the intercom for assistance. I wandered back to the bay and noticed a QR code to seek assistance with unlocking. It worked great but never got beyond seeking an associate. 5 minutes later I interrupted another associate who was vacuuming. He was going to use the intercom as well when I mentioned I already had two live 'calls for help' including on the app. He saw a colleague approaching and tried to engage her, but she wasn't interested. With that he walked over with me and freed my chain saw. All in all it took 10 minutes and revealed failure in process to seek help for something very specific and what seemed like a general sense of apathy amongst the staff.
Dan M 3 months agoJerald at Home Depot Store #6985 was absolutely phenomenal. He helped me find everything I needed, and every time I asked about something, he either had the answer right away or found it immediately. He made the entire experience smooth, easy, and stress free. I honestly had no idea employees like him were out there anymore. Jerald was that good. Home Depot needs to give this man a raise and make him a store manager. He went above and beyond, and it truly showed. Outstanding customer service all around. Seriously a nice actual decent Raise this year because every time i come in he gets me set up right and quick.
Kima 4 months agoThe Home Depot is a reliable one stop shop for home improvement needs. Huge selection of tools, lumber, appliances, and garden supplies makes projects easier. Staff is generally helpful, prices are competitive, and stores are well organized. Great for DIYers and professionals alike. Online pickup is convenient too. Very useful!
